Tennis Lessons in Tokyo

John Hoffman, Professional Tennis Coach

John Hoffman

Lesson Philosophy

Over the course of twenty years teaching tennis in twelve countries, I have learned that the best results come from developing each student according to his/her own needs.

Each lesson is individually tailored to for a rewarding experience and skills that last a lifetime.

John Hoffman, was born in Toronto, Canada. He began his tennis career at the age of 7. Junior tournaments followed, as well as playing for his high school on the city’s championship team, going undefeated in doubles his senior year. John followed that by playing Varsity tennis at York University, and then on to the ATP Satellite Circuit in Canada.

John's coaching career began in 1991 with Peter Burwash International, taking him all over the world, working with both club level and International level players in Canada, the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Austria, Thailand and Japan.

John has spent over 10 years in Japan, working at facilities such as the Hilton Tokyo, Tokyo Lawn Tennis Club and Ebara Shonan Sports Club (SSC)

Currently, John is working with nationally ranked juniors in Japan, ITF ranked juniors in Thailand, and is also coaching a number of recreational players throughout Tokyo.

Starting on July 11st, I will be rejoining Peter Burwash International (PBI), and working full-time at the

Tokyo Lawn Tennis Club.

As a result, my available hours for coaching outside of TLTC will be quite limited.

I want to thank everyone who I have played with these past 3 years, it has been a blast!
